The filing period for local candidates wanting to run for office in this year’s primary elections officially ended Friday at noon. Here are the candidates running for local office.

• US House of Representatives District 8: Republican Dan Bishop, who currently represents the state’s 9th District, and Democrat Scott Huffman. (Incumbent Richard Hudson decided to run for the 9th District seat);
• NC State Senate District 33: Republican incumbent Carl Ford and Democrat Tangela Morgan;
• NC House of Representatives District 67: Republican incumbent Wayne Sasser;
• County Commissioner At-Large: Republicans incumbent Lane Furr, Patty Crump and Leon Warren;
• County Commissioner District 1: Republicans incumbent Mike Barbee, Levi Greene and Mike Haigler;
• County Commissioner District 2: Republicans incumbent Bill Lawhon, Jon Ledbetter and Thomas Townsend;
• County Commissioner District 3: Republicans incumbent Tommy Jordan and Brandon King;
• County Commissioner District 4: Republican Trent Hatley. (Incumbent Zach Almond chose not to file);
• Board of Education At-Large: Republicans incumbent Anthony Graves, Melvin Poole, John Wright and Robin Whittaker;
• Board of Education District 1: Republicans incumbent Dustin Lisk and Meghan Almond;
• Sheriff: Democrat Davara Ponds and Republican incumbent Jeff Crisco;
• District Attorney District 28: Republican incumbent Lynn Clodfelter;
• Clerk of Superior Court: Democrat Todd Lowder and Republicans Pam Blake, Michael Greene and Ginger Efird;
• NC District Court Judge District 20A Seat 1 (Stanly County): Republican Phillip Cornett;
• NC District Court Judge District 20A Seat 2 (Stanly County): Republican John Nance;
• NC District Court Judge District 20A Seat 3 (Montgomery County): Republican Thai Vang.

Absentee Voting By Mail runs March 28-May 10.

One-Stop Early Voting happens April 28-May 14.

Primary Day is May 17.
