An individual was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center Saturday morning after being extracted from underneath a vehicle.

West Stanly Fire Department and Stanly County EMS were dispatched to the 100-block of Carmel Drive at 11:10 a.m. in reference to an individual pinned under a vehicle, according to a West Stanly Fire Facebook post.

Bystanders were able to remove the individual from under the vehicle prior to West Stanly Engine 1 and Rescue 1’s arrival.

The West Stanly units immediately began providing patient care once on the scene. Midland Fire and Rescue was dispatched to set up a landing zone at Berea Baptist Church. Stanfield Police also assisted.

West Stanly units continued to provide care along with Stanly County EMS until the patient was transferred in serious condition via MedCenter Air to Charlotte.
The SNAP has asked for an update on the condition of the patient but has not yet heard back.
