Stanly Community College will host an open house for area high school seniors 6-8 p.m. April 5 at the Albemarle campus, 141 College Dr.

The free event is an opportunity to learn more about SCC, its academic programs and opportunities of continuing their education locally.

Students interested in transferring to a university, earning a two-year degree, diploma or certificate, will find this event especially helpful planning for a future after graduation.

Starting at 6 p.m., students and their families are encouraged to tour the campus and explore any programs the students may be interested in pursuing through demonstrations and simulations.

At 7 p.m., attendees will convene in the Academic Support Center to enjoy pizza while learning about:

• Enrollment;

• Financial aid & scholarship processes; and

• Student resources.

“Traditional four-year colleges aren’t for everyone, especially in today’s economy. Stanly Community College offers a high-quality education and is ideal for students who aren’t quite sure what they want to do or those looking for a much more affordable and relevant educational experience,” said Tammi McIlwaine, associate vice president, School of Transfer and Business at SCC. “We think students also need to know the earning potential associated with many careers we focus on. Many of our graduates leave here with multiple job opportunities, offering good wages and benefits, and the opportunity for growth.”

Registration is not required, but encouraged at https://www.stanly.edu/scc-senior-night .
