Vance C. Dalton, Jr., CEO of Carolina Farm Credit, announces that Carolina Farm Credit awarded scholarships for $2,500 each to four students at North Carolina State University, four students at North Carolina A&T University and four students at the University of Mount Olive for the 2021-2022 academic school year.

“We recognize the importance of further education and hope these scholarships will help to enable these young adults to become the leaders of tomorrow,” said Dalton.

Mattie Harward, a native of Stanly County, was one of the recipients of a scholarship to N.C. State.

Harward is pursuing a degree in Agricultural Business Management. She is the daughter of Marcus and Patricia Harward.

Her plans, after graduation, are to continue running her family’s marketing business as well as Harward Sisters Cattle Company.
