The North Carolina DOT has announced a detour.

Beginning at 7:30 a.m. Monday and lasting for a week or less, NCDOT crews will close N.C. Highway 740 at the railroad tracks for railroad maintenance work.

The detour will be N.C. 740 to Airport Road; Airport Road to Airport Road; Airport Road to Mountain Creek Road; Mountain Creek Road back to N.C. 740.

DOT advised there will be some sharp turns for tractor trailers within this detour.
