Sandy Selvy-Mullis

Leadership Stanly is a comprehensive program designed to locate, cultivate and motivate a core of informed, committed and qualified individuals from diverse backgrounds to take an active role in community affairs.

Leadership Stanly offers a select group of participants the opportunity to meet community and civic leaders, discover and understand key issues impacting our county, establish quality business contacts, undertake class service projects, gain hands-on experience in community programs, develop and cultivate lasting friendships.

The overall objective of the Stanly County Leadership Program is to demonstrate the economic impact to Stanly County from various community stakeholders discussed in each session. In the nine-month program, monthly sessions focus on a variety of topics including: History, Manufacturing/Industry/Business, Health Care & Human Services, Government/Public Service, Education, Justice System, Agri-Business, natural resource and tourism.

Leadership Stanly, a program dating back to 1989, is an invaluable course that often pays personal and professional dividends for years to come. Individuals learn the value of strong networks of personal and professional contacts. The Chamber has realized the benefits of strong, knowledgeable volunteers, ambassadors and board members from the Leadership Stanly program. Local companies/organizations have realized the benefits of supporting the Leadership Stanly program by encouraging their employees to be involved in the community and allowing them to discover all aspects of leadership.

I encourage you to learn more about the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Stanly program.

As an alumnus of Leadership Stanly (Class of 2008), I can personally share how valuable this program is and am thankful for the many friendships and business connections I made. I have many memories from my time in the program.

Be a part of this powerful Leadership Stanly team.
