Richfield’s $646,000 budget keeps property taxes at 22 cents

The Richfield town council recently approved the ordnance of its 2022-2023 budget, which would keep the property tax rate at 22 cents per $100 valuation.

Totaling $646,185, the budget, which takes effect July 1 and runs through June 30, 2023, is about 53 percent more than the 2021-22 budget, which was $423,000.

The budget includes $213,000 for administration, $123,000 for parks and recreation, $85,000 for Powell funds, $83,000 for police and $43,000 for trash collection. Key appropriations include $83,000 for the Thread Trail, $75,000 for employee salaries and $60,000 for paving.

The revenue, which also totals $646,185, includes $177,000 in property taxes, $175,000 in sales tax and $50,000 in franchise tax.
