Union County man charged for statutory rape, sex offense of minor under 15

After an investigation of several months, Stanfield Police Department obtained arrest warrants for Evan Lewis Whiteside, a 23-year-old Union County resident.

After Union County Sheriff’s Office was unable to locate Whiteside at his residence, he turned himself in at the Stanly County Jail, where he was booked in with a $500,000 secured bond on the charges of three counts of statutory rape of a minor less Then 15 years old and one charge of statutory sex offense of a minor less than 15 years old.
