On Oct. 16 Salem United Methodist Church will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the formation of Salem Church.

Celebrations will be on the church grounds, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a sermon outside. There is special music planned, multiple history vignettes, and a sermon delivered by District Superintendent Rev. Laura Auten. This will also include the opening and examination of the time capsule.

After worship services everyone is invited to adjourn to the Fellowship Building for a potluck meal with inside and outside seating. Special activities include a cake tasting, games and cornhole, all organized by Salem’s Youth. Bingo will be held in the Hut.

Salem is on N.C. Highway 73 in the Millingport community.
