He has plans to be active in his community and to improve the overall appearance of the local business community with his landscaping business.

The Betty Watson Scholarship is a memorial scholarship established in 1979 honoring the work of Betty Watson, former home economist and extension agent.

Applicants majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences or related areas are given preference when selecting scholarship winner(s). Graduates of our local high schools and students from Stanly County in college are eligible to apply.

The awards committee found these two persons to exhibit academic scholarship, initiative, character and leadership ability.
