The Cash Calendar Fundraiser, a joint venture of Stanly Health Foundation and the John P. Murray Community Care Clinic, has excited local participants over the past couple of years.

It is a way to support the work of these local healthcare organizations that serve the healthcare needs of folks in the community by providing primary care to the uninsured, medications, education on ways to deal with chronic illness and more.

Each calendar purchased for $100 is an entry into a drawing that is held each Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the year. The drawings are for $250, $500 and $1,000, respectively, with two “Big Money” drawings conducted on Memorial Day and Black Friday for $3,000 and $5,000, respectively, for those who purchase by the early bird deadline of Dec. 1.

There are only 2,000 calendars available, and a total of $100,000 is given away.

Each calendar is entered into every drawing, even if it has already won, thus giving each calendar 157 chances to win.

Calendars purchased by Oct. 31 will be entered into a special bonus $1,000 drawing on Nov. 1.

A limited number of calendars are still available for purchase.
