Atrium Health Skilled Nursing Facilities, which oversees several nursing homes in the region, is considering selling 10 licensed adult care beds at Stanly Manor.

A public notice appeared in the weekend edition of The Stanly News & Press stating that the nonprofit “provides notice that it plans to consider a resolution declaring its intent to sell the operating rights and other intangible assets utilized in connection with the 10 licensed adult care home beds at Stanly Manor at its next regularly scheduled board meeting.”

The next board meeting is scheduled for Oct. 25. AHSNF plans to issue a Request for Proposal in relation to the sale.

Potential buyers of the 10 beds, according to the public notice, include existing long term care facilities in Stanly, Anson, Gates, Hoke, Perquimans, Swain and Tyrrel counties.

The notice did not provide any details as to why AHSNF is looking to sell the beds, which make up a small portion of the 100-bed facility, of which 90 are licensed skilled beds.

“We are considering divesting the underutilized 10 assisted living beds and will have more details at the public hearing,” said Atrium spokeswoman Kate Gaier.

Stanly Manor, at 625 Bethany Road, Albemarle, offers “rehabilitation and skilled nursing services to individuals recovering from surgery, illness or an accident,” according to its website.
