Injuries have been a problem all season long for the South Stanly varsity football team, and they finally have brought the team’s 2022 season to an end.

According to the South Stanly head football coach Ryan Ochier and athletic director Sean Whitley, the Rebel Bulls will forfeit the final two games of the season because of players out with injury.

The Bulls were scheduled to play at Jay M. Robinson tonight and Oct. 28 at home against Union Academy.

With the two forfeit losses, South finishes the season with an 0-10 mark, just the second winless season in school history. South’s 1967 squad finished 0-9-2 overall.

South Stanly’s JV team will finish out the 2022 season, including a game next week against Union Academy.
