West Stanly football loses sixth straight game

The West Stanly Colts faced one of the best teams in the state in the 2A Friday night traveling to Monroe to face the Redhawks.

West Stanly (3-6, 0-3 RRC) has not lost six games in a row since the Colts lost the final eight games of the 2014 season.

Friday’s 61-0 loss was the first time West had lost by 60 or more points since a 68-0 loss to Monroe in 2012.

The Redhawks (8-1, 3-0 RRC) are the No. 2 ranked 2A team in the state, according to MaxPreps.com.

The Colts wrap up the team’s season Friday night on the road at Anson (3-6, 0-3). The Bearcats fell on the road in a conference matchup at Parkwood 28-21.
