The Albemarle Downtown Development Corporation will once again host the annual Holiday Tour of Homes 2-6 p.m. Dec. 11.

Eight sites comprised of private homes, styled model residences and a public space will be featured on the tour.

For the first time wristbands will be used in place of paper tickets. The proceeds from the tour fund many of the downtown beautification projects.

Site No. 5 is in Morgan Hills, Albemarle’s newest tract community.

True Homes USA developed the Anderson Ridge community and is now offering the same construction in Morgan Hills.

Site No. 6 is a Cape Cod style home nestled on a corner lot in the Melchor Heights neighborhood. It is owned by two Stanly County young professionals, Casey Greene and Lynn Plummer. The home was acquired in 2019 and they are only the second owner’s since it was built in 1986 by Bill and Mildred Burnside.

It begins with a landscape of mature plantings on an expansive yard with an outdoor deck and a recent addition of an in-ground pool adjacent to the home.

Inside, hardwood floors create a welcome feel throughout the living areas. The kitchen features spacious granite countertops with tile flooring. Natural light floods the home through the windows, including sunroom.

Casey and Lynn enjoy being with family, friends and neighbors. Since acquiring this property, they completed renovations to a partially finished basement.

Casey and Lynn have both always loved Christmas and this is reflected in several collections of Christmas decorations displayed throughout the entire home. One of the collections consists of decorations that have been passed down by family members, including a Christmas tree that is filled with childhood ornaments.
