Nine schools in the Stanly County system will be closed again Thursday due to a natural gas outage.

While Piedmont Natural Gas continues to restore a break in a gas line, the following schools impacted will remain closed Thursday: Albemarle High, Albemarle Middle, Central, East Albemarle, Aquadale, Norwood, South Stanly Middle, South Stanly High and STEM Early College.

The schools are closed for students and staff and all athletic events and other after-school activities are canceled, according to a Facebook post from Stanly County Schools.
