Gray Stone Day School middle school students recently competed in The Great History Challenge, a national academic competition where students are asked trivia-style questions allowing students to demonstrate their history knowledge.
All questions come from the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) curriculum standards.
Eleven seventh and eighth graders competed in the regional championship Jan. 26 at Gray Stone Day School.
Qualifying for the national championship are seventh graders Aaron Maynor and Jeffrey Stevenson and eighth grader Constantine Cook.
“It is exciting to be able to host academic competitions like this at Gray Stone,” Middle School Principal Kristen Gray said. “Students from around the region, including 11 of our own, were able to showcase their history knowledge in a fun way. These students represented Gray Stone well and I am so proud of their accomplishments.”
