BADIN NEWS: Closure of alleyway up for discussion tonight

Town Council

The Badin Town Council meeting at 7 tonight in Town Hall will be preceded by a public hearing at 6:45 p.m. to receive input regarding closing a portion of the alleyway system off Roosevelt Street.

Anyone wishing to speak at either meeting is asked to sign in before it begins.

Palestine UMC

Volunteers are needed for packing food bags for Badin elementary students on March 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the church basement, 36414 Palestine Road. The bags will be delivered to the school the next day.

UM Women will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser March 25 beginning at 4 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Plates are $10 for dine-in or carry-out, and include spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, dessert, and beverage. The community is invited.

Badin Library

Storytime and Crafts for kids is March 21 at 10:30 a.m. Anyone may visit the library on Monday or Thursday from 3-7 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Sunshine Club

All adults are invited for lunch and fellowship on March 28 at 10:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall of Badin Baptist Church, 28 Falls Road.

Please bring a crowd-pleasing dish to share following the program.

Community Yard Sale

It’s time to get ready for the semi-annual yard sale from 7 a.m. to noon April sponsored by Better Badin. Sellers are asked to make a $10 donation to Better Badin, Inc. and bring a table for setting up in the Alcoa parking lot on Lou Donaldson Boulevard.

Badin Elementary

Congratulations go to Badin Elementary’s 2022-23 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Pickler, and to Badin Elementary’s Support Teacher of the Year Mrs. Byrd.

Stony Hill UMC

During the 40-day Lenten season, Pastor Kaye Fry will have Bible studies at noon and at 6 p.m. each Wednesday at the church, 28996 Stony Hill Road.

Please bring a bag-lunch or dinner and Pastor Fry will provide soup.
