Alpha Delta Kappa, a honorary organization for teachers, met April 13 at West Albemarle Baptist Church.

President Barbara Klein called the meeting to order.

Audrey Rigsbee introduced Sandy Carelock as the guest speaker.
Carelock is executive director of Stanly Adult Care Center, which is to open in the spring of 2024.

The center will be available to adult residents (18 years and older) of Stanly, Montgomery, Anton, Rowan and Cabarrus counties.
Currently, there are no adult day care services in Stanly or Montgomery counties.

The center will provide adult day care services including many activities, meals and health care services.

Participants’ families will benefit from adult day services by receiving respite or a break from caregiving and can continue their own lives.

Klein attended the state conference in Asheville April 22.

The next meeting will be May 11 at West Albemarle Baptist Church. The chapter will celebrate the 75th anniversary of Alpha Delta Kappa.
