UPDATE: In search for missing 15-year-old, Sheriff’s Office identifies person of interest

The Stanly County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in searching for Stephanie Morton, a 15-year-old female last seen at South Stanly High School around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
Law enforcement officials have a possible person of interest. His name is Dwayne Howard Bartlett, an approximately 30-year-old white man.
Morton was last seen getting into an older model two-door red Ford Mustang, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
