This season, the West Stanly men’s golf team won the Rocky River Conference meet played at Eagle Chase Golf Club, and had the top individual finisher at the match.

West finished with a team score of 337 at the RRC match, followed by Central Academy (348) and Parkwood (394).

The Colts’ Damien Moser earned individual medalist honors with the low round of 76.

Based on season nine-hole average, Ryan Collins finished tied with Central’s Alexander Murphy for RRC Player of the Year, forcing a sudden-death playoff. Collins won the playoff with a birdie on Hole No. 1 to earn Player of the Year honors.

Collins also shot a 72 at the 2A Midwest Regionals and will compete next week as an individual at the 2A state finals at Long Leaf in Pinehurst.

West Stanly finished the regular season as conference runners-up to Central Academy.
