The Albemarle Rotary Club will have its 2nd Annual Race to Remember at 8 a.m. June 10.

This is a 5K and one-mile run/walk which begins and ends on North Third Street behind Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle.

In 2022, more than 100 runners and walkers participated and more than $5,000 was raised to support Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust (CART).

All profits will be given to CART, which gives grants to research seeking both a cure and treatment for Alzheimer’s and related dementia.

Rotary members in South Carolina began CART in the late 1990s and grants totaling more than $11.5 million have been awarded.
