Topics including minimum lot sizes, adult entertainment areas, rezonings and temporary camper trailers will be covered at the June meeting of the Stanly County Planning Board.

The planning board, meeting at 6:30 p.m. June 12 at the Gene McIntyre Meeting Room at Stanly Commons, will discuss a text amendment regarding minimum lot sizes in the Residential/Agricultural (R/A) district.

The proposed amendment would require parcels in the R/A to be no less than 40,000 square feet when water and sewer are not available. The amendment would set a 30,000 square feet minimum for lots where water and sewer were available.

Lots in the R10 and R20 districts would also be limited to 15,000- and 20,000-square-foot minimums, respectively.

A conservation subdivision proposal and discussions of lot sizes is also on the meeting’s agenda.

Another text amendment would allow camper trailers to be used temporarily on construction sites of a person’s primary residence.

Another text amendment will further define where an adult establishment and adult live entertainment could take place according to the zoning ordinance.

One request going before the planning board is from Burleson Development to approve a 28-lot subdivision at 20239 Running Creek Church Road in Locust. (The previous paragraph was edited to reflect the request bu Burleson Development was not a rezoning request, but a by right request.)
