Student receives Edith Norwood Scholarship

Mattie Poulos, a graduate from South Stanly High School, has been awarded the Edith Norwood Scholarship for the 2022-23 school year.

The scholarship, sponsored by the Norwood Community Service League, is given to a South Stanly High senior who has achieved a high level academically and shown good character and a dedication to the local community.
Outside of school, she has assisted with events at Stanfield Elementary, Trinity Place and at the Norwood Community Table.
She plans to pursue a career in veterinary technology at Caldwell Community College and then further her education at a university.
