Stanly Community College recently took the opportunity to celebrate the area’s graduating high school seniors who committed to pursue their education at SCC beginning this fall.
Much like the athletic signing events for students who commit to play sports at the collegiate level, these “Yes to SuCCess Signing Celebrations” were held at each Stanly County high school, including North, West and South Stanly, Albemarle and Gray Stone Day.

The events offered students and their families an opportunity to take a break from their school day and relish their success.

SCC President Dr. John Enamait welcomed the students along with SCC Vice President of Student Success Dr. Carmen Nunalee before enjoying some casual conversations with SCC representatives over food.

Students were given SCC-branded items, including a “I said Yes to SuCCess” T-shirt commemorating the occasion.

“We’re excited to see students arrive to campus in the fall but wanted to honor those students who have already applied and been accepted to SCC,” said Enamait. “Recognizing their commitment to receive the education and training necessary to enter the workforce in their chosen profession is worthy of celebration.”

North Stanly’s Jarrell Stephens was accompanied by several members of his family, many of whom also attended SCC during their younger years. He will be attending the college to pursue a career in Emergency Medical Science.

“I’m excited and ready to go to Stanly Community College,” said Stephens.
