Farmers Market

The farmers market will have new hours this season. The market will be open 4:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

The market sells local fruits and vegetables and crafts.

Cruise In

Sarah White writes the Locust News for the SNAP.

Locust “Town Center” Cruise In will be June 16. This event occurs every third Friday from 6-9 p.m. (weather permitting) at the Locust Town Center, 161 Ray Kennedy Dr.

Summer Solstice Bash

Come celebrate the day with the most daylight in 2023. There will be sprinklers, yard games, popsicles and lots of fun.

Come out to the Locust Athletic Complex Football Field (beside the tennis courts) on June 21.

The activities will start at 10 a.m. and end at noon. Bring your own tent/umbrella, chair, sunscreen, towels and water bottles.

All ages are welcome and it is free.

Locust Presbyterian

Are you tired of eating lunch alone, love free food, work from home or in Locust?

You are invited to the monthly Come Have Lunch on June 21 and the theme will be Summer Grillin. This is open to the community.

Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. followed by a monthly themed game and great fellowship.

Locust Presbyterian is at 608 W. Main St.

Father’s Day Campout

Families are invited to join June 24-25 for a campout at the Locust Athletic Complex on baseball field 1. There are limited camp spots.

Tent sites are 15×15 feet, but there will likely be extra room to accommodate a larger tent. These sites will not have electric.

Registrants must provide their own tent, chairs, sleeping bags, lanterns, etc.

Park restrooms will remain open throughout the night.

The concession stand will be open from 3-10 p.m., cash only.

Bottled water will be available for guests.

Park staff will be available, working concessions, hosting games and activities, until approximately 11 p.m. Limited park staff will remain overnight at the Park Office. Check in: 3-4 p.m. June 24.

The fee is $5/person and includes dinner Saturday, bottled water, games, smore’s, outdoor movie and breakfast Sunday.
