Stanly Arts Guild announces winners for Summer Art Explosion

The Summer Art Explosion Exhibition and Competition is now showing at the Stanly Arts Guild and Gift Store.
The SAE includes artists from Stanly County and several other surrounding counties. There were 16 artists that entered the show, offering 41 pieces of art that included 2-D and 3-D.
The winners for 2-D art are: first place Robert Cooper for “Tank Commander,” second place Susan Lackey for “Misty Morning” and third place Janet Fisher for “Shrooming Butterfly.” There were two hororable mentions, Paula Montgomery for “It Looks Like Love” and Jutta Vest for “Let your Light Shine.”
In the 3-D category, first place went to Linda Harris for “Farm Series, Farmers Wife,” second place Karen Lowder for “Fireworks” and third place O’Lynda Walker for “Robbers in the Cabbage Patch.”
There were two honorable mentions, Judith Williams for “Turquoise Study” and Linda Harris for “Queen Electra.”
The judge for the show was Aimee Perry from Salisbury.
The Stanly Art Guild is at 330-C N. Second St., Albemarle. Business hours are noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
