Albemarle Police arrest larceny suspect

Shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday Albemarle Police Department officers were dispatched to a retail store at 837 N.C. Highway 24 for a reported larceny.

While en route to the call, officers located the vehicle matching the description of the report, a white U-Haul pickup truck, and pursued it. The truck struck a utility pole at East Main Street near Heath Street. The driver was transported by EMS for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Warrants have been issued on Lesha Trina Cooper for felony fleeing to elude arrest, misdemeanor larceny, careless and reckless driving and multiple stop sign violations.
