Albemarle City Attorney Britt Burch has been chosen for a leadership role with the North Carolina Association of Municipal Attorneys.
The NCAMA is an affiliate of the North Carolina League of Municipalities. The NCLM is a member-driven organization representing the interests of cities and towns in the state.
According to the NCLM’s website, the organization aims to “protect local decision-making authority so that local residents can pursue their own unique visions of what their towns and cities can and should be.”
On Thursday last week, Burch attended the NCAMA summer conference. The conference topics included professional development, building partnerships with municipalities from across the state and updates related to state and federal government legislation.
Out of several hundred municipal attorneys, Burch was chosen to serve on NCAMA’s board of directors.
“It’s an honor to join fellow legal professionals dedicated to advancing the causes of communities at the local level,” said Burch. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the City of Albemarle through the work of the NCAMA.”
Albemarle City Council members recognized Burch at their most recent meeting.
“We congratulate Ms. Burch and I know we all feel fortunate to have her as part of our organization,” said Mayor Ronnie Michael.
