The Pfeiffer University athletic staff welcomed back the 2023-2024 crop of Falcon student-athletes with a gathering in Merner Gym on Aug. 13.
The athletics staff welcomed more than 400 student athletes on the afternoon. Each coach was introduced to the assembled group and the traditional “family photo” was taken.
Pfeiffer’s first day of classes was Aug. 14 with first practices commencing for fall sports.
The Falcons athletics season officially gets underway on Friday with the men’s tennis team traveling to the Belmont Abbey Invitational. Both Pfeiffer soccer teams will also get underway that day with the women’s team traveling to former USA South foe Averett University for a 6 p.m. tilt with the Cougars while the men’s team will head to Greensboro to take on the Guilford Quakers at 7 p.m.
Pfeiffer’s cross country and volleyball teams will get their first taste of action on Saturday. The cross country team will head to nearby Salisbury to take part in the Catawba Invitational while the Falcon volleyball team will host a tri-match with Warren Wilson and N.C. Wesleyan in Merner Gym.
