Flooding from Tropical Cyclone Idalia is possible across southern and eastern portions of central North Carolina from this afternoon through Thursday evening.

…FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING…

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE…A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Anson, Chatham, Cumberland, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Halifax, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Nash, Orange, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Wake, Wayne and Wilson.

* WHEN…From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – Flooding from Tropical Cyclone Idalia is possible across southern and eastern portions of central North Carolina from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday evening. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches are possible, with local amounts to 7 inches. – http://www.floodsafety.noaa.gov
