The City of Albemarle’s Public Housing Department will reopen waiting lists for both of its Public Housing communities. The Public Housing Department operates Amhurst Gardens, a multi-family housing community and Elizabeth Heights, a senior community.

Effective at 9 a.m. Sept. 5, a new wait list for both communities will be opened. Individuals who previously applied will need to reapply.

Applications will be available online at www.albemarlenc.gov/publichousingapplication and in-person at the housing office at 300 S. Bell Avenue, Albemarle.

The Public Housing wait list will remain open until 5 p.m. Sept. 7. All applications are due at that time.
