Stanly County Health Department is now offering at-home COVID-19 test kits to the public at no cost. Tests may be used for those aged 2 years and older.

To pick up a test kit for your household, visit the front desk of the health department during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Supplies are limited.

No-cost at-home COVID-19 test kits for individuals age 18 and older are also available through the Home Test to Treat program. Kits are delivered directly to your home. This is a public health program provided by the National Institutes of Health, in collaboration with the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Home Test to Treat program gives you access to free COVID-19 tests, free COVID-19 telehealth visits and free COVID-19 treatment (if eligible). You can register for the program at any time, whether you are healthy or sick. It includes an optional research component to learn more about your experience using telehealth and test-to-treat programs.

Individuals should test for COVID-19 if they have symptoms or at least five days after known or suspected close contact to COVID-19, according to the health department.

If an individual tests positive for COVID-19 they should limit contact with others for five days and then wear a mask for an additional five days when in public.
