Sunshine Club

The Sunshine group meets at 10:30 a.m. today in the fellowship hall of Badin Baptist Church, 28 Falls Road. James Wahab, Badin Coffee barista, will present a program for coffee lovers and everyone else. The covered dish lunch will follow. Please bring a favorite entree or side to share with the group.

Badin Library

Children are invited to Storytime and Crafts today at 10:30 a.m. at the Badin branch, 62 Pine St. Next month’s programs will be Oct. 10 and 24. The library is also open every Monday and Thursday from 3-7 p.m.

Limb & Brush

Place limb and brush debris curbside before 8 a.m. Oct. 3 for pickup.

Better Badin

Better Badin meets Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Badin Baptist Church, 28 Falls Road. The fall events begin soon which means the 501(c)(3) organization is seeking new members, volunteers, vendors and sponsors. It’s possible to get involved even without attending meetings.

Town Council

The Council’s regular meeting is Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. in Town Hall, 36 Falls Road. The Council will have a public hearing at 6:45 p.m. to gather input about closure of a few alleys. Please check www.badin.org to see a list of the affected alleyways.
Palestine Church

Volunteers will pack Badin Elementary backpack food bags on Sept. 28 at 5:30 p.m. as part of the school-year effort to help children. Please meet in the church basement. A volunteer is also needed for delivery Sept. 29.

Palestine Women will meet Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Senior Citizen Sunday is Oct. 8. A covered dish lunch follows the 11 a.m. worship service and everyone is invited.

Morrow Mountain

A ranger-guided hike of the Fall Mountain Trail is planned for 9 a.m. Sept. 30. Additional info is available at 704-982-4402. Currently, all 37 miles of hiking trails and 19 miles of equestrian trails are open. The boathouse is only open weekends for boat rentals and snacks from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
