Arts Guild reveals Nature At Its Best art show winners

The 15th Annual Ellen Cook Gaskin Memorial Nature At Its Best art competition and show has revealed the winners.
There were 19 artists that entered the show at Stanly Arts Guild & Gifts, 330-C N. Second St., Albemarle. The show includes 48 pieces in 2D and 3D work.
Judge for the show was Anthony Pernell. He has a bachelor’s degree in Education and a master’s degree in Studio painting from Ball State University. He was the owner of Tony’s Art Joint in downtown Albemarle for two years and is a member of the Stanly County Arts Council and the Historic Resources Commission in Albemarle.
Marshall Davis won first place for “Gift of Spring” and second place for “Zinnia Jungle.” Craig Marsh won third place for “Morning Melody.”’
Honorable mentions included Carol Harris for “Alaska Quilt,” Michelle Efird for “Wildest Dreams,” Carol Harris for “Cat Bowl” and David Thayer for “Pearl’s Flags.”
Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
