A pedestrian was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday night in Albemarle.

At around 7:30 p.m., police officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, according to an Albemarle spokesperson. A vehicle was traveling south on US 52 North when it collided with a pedestrian crossing the road.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital. The traffic collision remains under investigation.
