Did someone say October? It’s hard to believe that September has gone and we’re now in October. It’s officially autumn and the leaves are already changing. The fall foliage will be beautiful. Take some time to take in the beautiful colors. Continue to stay safe out there.

Church News

It’s back! It’s time for St. Luke’s household goods and clothing giveaway. This will take place 9-11 a.m. Oct. 7 in the Alcoa parking lot. Remember to bring something to put your goodies in. In case of rain, the make up date will be Oct. 21.

Saints Delight Church invites all to its fall revival at 7 p.m. Oct. 4-6. Wednesday’s speaker will be Pastor Vincent Tillman, of Life Giving Church, Concord. Thursday, Pastor Clay Parker, of Flint Ridge Baptist Church, Marshville, will be the speaker. Closing out on Friday will be Pastor Darryl Medley, of Spirit and Trutg United Church of Worship, Albemarle. The host pastor is Pastor Charles Barrino.

New Direction Life Ministries will host its fall revival at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4-6.

Pastor Sharon Belk, of Mt. Nebo Holiness Church, Ramseur, will be Wednesday’s speaker. Thursday’s speaker will be Pastor Shirlene White, of Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center, Charlotte. Friday’s speaker will be Pastor Prince Purcell III, of Gethsemane Worship Center, Troy. The host pastors are Michael and Anita Scott.

The West Badin Holy Week Association presents a praise service, “There’s Victory In Your Praise,” at noon Oct. 7.
The association consists of Bishop Tavaris Johnson, president and pastor of Mt. Zion, Pastor L. Thompson, of McDonald Chapel, Pastor Dr. Anthony Neal, of First Baptist, Bishop Chenner Smith, of St. Luke Holiness Church, and Pastor Parnell Kelly, of Shiloh Baptist Church. Everyone is urged to attend.

Sanctuary Christian Outreach Ministry’s youth department will have a baked goods and hot dog sale on Oct. 7 beginning at noon at the corner of East Main and Leonard Avenue. Call 203-941-1710 if you would like to pre-order. Donations are welcome.

The Outsiders will have a tent revival at the corner of Lundix and Arey Avenue Oct. 9-13.

Evangelist Rhonda Williams will host Winning Women Revival Oct. 16-21. Monday-Friday will be 7 p.m.

The speakers will be Rev. Judy Little, Apostle Felicia Barringer, Pastor Celeste Chiles, Minister Cathy Hartsell and Pastor Johnnie Mae Miller.

On Saturday, breakfast is at 9 a.m., zumba with coach Tanya Jackson is at 10, and the main speaker, Pastor Lonnie Hall, is at 11:15. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Registration is required for Saturday. Everything is free.
