HARRISTOWN NEWS: Winning Women Revival happens this week

A sure sign of fall is the many festivals, bazaars, bake sales and craft shows being offered in the area. Look out for posters and announcements about upcoming events.

Trick or treaters will soon be making their rounds. Lots of churches and organizations are sponsoring trunk or treat activities to help keep our children safe.

Be careful when driving through neighborhoods during these fun activities.

Church News

The E.E.Waddell Center will be the venue for the Winning Women Revival, hosted by Evangelist Rhonda Williams through Saturday.
The event will be at 7 p.m. weeknights.

The speakers will be Rev. Judy Little, Apostle Felicia Barringer, Pastor Charles Chiles, Minister Cathy Hartsell and Pastor Johnnie Mae Miller.
Saturday’s event kicks off with breakfast at 9 a.m. Then at 10 a.m., get up and move with zumba, led by Coach Tanya Jackson. The guest speaker, Pastor Lonnie Hall, will speak at 11:15 a.m.

Remember that everything is free, but you must register for Saturday’s event.

The Mt. Zion Male Choir will celebrate their anniversary on Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Badin. All groups are welcome.

The youth of Mt. Zion will host “Falling For Jesus/He Will Never Leave” Oct. 29.

The day begins with church service at 10 a.m. with speaker Elijah Medlock, Resurrection Community Church. Trunk or Treat will be from noon to 1 p.m. Fall Festival is from 1-5 p.m. There will be music, food, fun, games and prizes.

Community News

The Love Thy Neighbor Community Thanksgiving Meal will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 4 at Isiah Westbrook Community Center, 507 Roosevelt St., Badin.

Sympathy

The community extends sincere condolences to the Steele/Lindsey family in the passing of Nellie L. Steele.

We compassionately extend sympathy to the Harris/Stanback family in the loss of Patricia H. Stanback.

Sincere condolences are extended to the Richardson family.
