On Oct. 20, multiple search warrants were conducted in connection with Richard Huneycutt of Albemarle.
During the investigation, detectives with the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office received information that Huneycutt altered a Last Will and Testament of Alan Jarvis Harwood. After Harwood’s death, the Sheriff’s Office said, it was found Huneycutt took possession of his home and multiple vehicles illegally.
Huneycutt was later arrested and charged with felony larceny, larceny of a motor vehicle, breaking and entering, uttering a forged instrument, common law forgery, obtaining property by false pretense and forgery of deeds or wills.
Huneycutt is being held at the Stanly County Jail under a secured bond of $1.7 million with a district court date of Nov. 6.
The Sheriff’s Office said this investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
