Filing on Tuesday for political office were:

• State Sen. Carl Ford (REP) of China Grove for his District 33 seat, which includes Stanly County; and

• county commissioner Brandon King (REP) of Albemarle for the House District 67 seat occupied by Rep. Wayne Sasser, who is not seeking reelection.

They are in addition to the following who filed on Monday:

• county commissioner Scott Efird (REP) of Locust for commissioner at-large;

• county commissioner Peter Asciutto (REP) of Albemarle for commissioner District 5;

• school board member Glenda Gibson (REP) of Albemarle for Stanly County Board of Education District 3;

• register of deeds Jennie Helms (REP) of New London for Register of Deeds.
