HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK: Wind advisory in effect through Saturday morning

The National Weather Service has a wind advisory in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday for Stanly County. Southeast winds turning southwest at speeds of 15 to 25 mph are likely, with gusts up to 30 to 45 mph, from 4 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday in central North Carolina. There is a slight risk of severe storms between 5 p.m. and midnight over the eastern Sandhills and central and southern Coastal Plain. Damaging wind gusts over 60 mph and a weak tornado are potential threats.
