Testing of the voting equipment to be used in the March 5, 2024 Primary will be conducted by the Board of Elections staff and precinct officials Wednesday to Friday on the following schedule:
• 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday;
• 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday; and
• 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
Testing is open to the public and will take place at the Stanly County Commons, 1000 N. 1st St., Albemarle, in the Gene McIntyre Meeting Room.
Before each election, every county board of elections conducts public “logic and accuracy” tests of all voting and tabulation equipment to ensure votes will be counted correctly.
Each contest and contest position is tested on every voting machine, along with machine functionality and accessibility features.
The entire system is also tested through a mock election to ensure proper tabulation, vote aggregation and reporting of results.
