Madison Thomas, a student at Stanly Community College, recently received one of two annual scholarships presented by North Carolina Future Business Leaders of America Collegiate (FBLA-C).
Thomas is a second-year business administration major from Norwood.
At SCC, she is a Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society member, assists with Student Government Association activities and serves as secretary of the FBLA Collegiate chapter. She has been on the president’s and honors lists each semester.
“Attending Stanly Community College and participating in FBLA Collegiate and other student organizations has opened multiple opportunities for me,” Thomas said. “I arrived as a shy, soft-spoken person, but being involved on campus has made me a better student and a stronger leader. I am honored to receive the state FBLA Collegiate Scholarship and will use it to continue toward my career goal.”
Thomas, also a recipient of an SCC scholarship from Seven Oaks Doors & Hardware, will complete her Associate in Applied Sciences degree in May and further her education in Human Resource Management.
