Valentine Storytime and Crafts is today at 10:30 a.m. for preschoolers and home school students. All are welcome. The next Storytime session is Feb. 27.

Town Council

The Badin Town Council’s monthly meeting is tonight at 7 in Town Hall, 36 Falls Road. Visitors are welcome.

Bread Giveaway

Better Badin’s monthly bread giveaway takes place Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. in the Badin VFD parking lot. Free bread products will be given out as long as supplies last.

Litter Patrol

Please come and join Better Badin volunteers for a litter sweep through town on Feb. 24. The group will meet at the Falls Road gazebo at 8:30 a.m. to get assignments.

Sunshine Club

All adults are welcome to the fellowship hall at Badin Baptist on Falls Road at 10:30 a.m. for a program and a covered dish lunch with friends and neighbors. Please bring a dish to share.

Stony Hill UMC

All are welcome to come for the Ash Wednesday service at Stony Hill UMC, 28996 Stony Hill Road, at 7 p.m. on Feb. 14 and join in 40 days of preparation for Easter.

Palestine Community Church

The fellowship group Palestine Pals will meet today at Rosebriar Restaurant in Albemarle at 11:30 a.m. Visitors are welcome.

Pastor Kevin McCormac began a Lenten Bible Study on Feb. 11. The study, “Growing in the Grace of Gratitude,” by David Jeremiah, will continue Sunday evenings at 6 in the sanctuary.

An optional $10 study guide is available from Joyce Drye. The church is at 36414 Palestine Road.

Morrow Mountain

The next Reading with a Ranger program is Feb. 24 from 1-2 p.m. at Shelter C. All ages are welcome to hear a story about bears, plus learn about bear biology and some fun facts.

A Morrow Mountain State Park ranger will give a presentation at the Kron House on Feb. 25 from 2-3 p.m. about Dr. Frances Kron, an early settler in the 1800s who practiced medicine in the Uwharrie region. A tour of Dr. Kron’s house, office and cemetery will be offered following the program.
