Stanly County Partners in Health will stage its annual Golden Shoe event March 9-22.
Two hundred painted and tagged gold shoes will be hidden around parks in Stanly County. All ages are invited to go hunting for golden shoes.
Every shoe found is a winner of a prize. To receive your prize, you must turn in the shoe and tag on Prize Claim Day March 23 at City Lake Park from 10 a.m. to noon. Prizes are limited to one per person.
Golden Shoe parks include Badin, Chuck Morehead, City Lake, Norwood, Oakboro, Richfield, Rock Creek, New London and Stanfield.
Since 2009, this event has encouraged community members, from toddlers to seniors, to get outside and get moving. It is also a way to spend time with family and friends.
If you happen to not find a golden shoe, still head out to City Lake Park on Prize Claim Day for CPR training by Stanly County EMS and activities with Albemarle Parks and Rec.
Stanly County Partners in Health coalition’s mission is to improve the whole person health of Stanly County residents through cooperation, communication and education.
If your business or organization would like to contribute a prize for this event, contact Mikayla Williams, health educator, with Stanly County Health Department, at 704-986-3016.
