Friends of the Library announces book sale dates

Friends of the Stanly County Public Library will have its spring book sale at the lower level of the library, 133 E. Main St., Albemarle.

The sale begins 4-7 p.m. April 10 for active paid members. Memberships are available at the door.

It continues 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 11 and April 12 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 13.

Books can be purchased for a $1 a bag on April 13.

Proceeds help the Friends of the Stanly County Library support public library services in all branches.

The sale includes hardbacks and paperbacks in children’s, young adult and adult books. Also available are CDs, audiobooks, DVDs and more. Prices range from $.25 to $1.

This sale includes several special collections that will be offered with special pricing. These will include coffee table books, leatherbound classics and more.

Stanly County teachers are invited to select $5 worth of age-appropriate books for their classrooms.

Friends of the Stanly County Library, formed as a nonprofit in 1992, supports the Stanly County Library and its services, informs others of issues affecting the Library and assists in promoting literacy in Stanly County.

Each year the Friends sponsor special events such as author presentations, workshops, fall and spring book sales, and the Children’s Summer Reading Program.
