Bulk Pickup

March 23 will be Bulk Pickup Day in Locust. You must call Waste Pro at 704-821-7578 No later than March 21 to register you address or your items will not be collected.

All items must be at curbside by 6 a.m. to ensure collection. You can visit the city website for more information.

Missions Fundraiser

Still trying to figure out what your family is eating for your Easter gatherings? Look no further.

Providence Church of God Missions team would love to have you order a Boston butt to support its summer mission trip to Honduras.

You can support by pre-ordering a Boston butt for pickup on March 30 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Family Life Center at the church.

The Boston butts are $40 each. All proceeds will go to the Missions Team.

Providence Church is at 12474 N.C. Highway 24-27, Locust.

Come Have Lunch

All are invited to come have lunch with Locust Presbyterian Church on March 20 beginning at 11:30 a.m. Wear your green and celebrate the luck of the Irish.

Lunch is in the fellowship hall of the church at 607 Main St. W., Locust.

For the Easter season Locust Presbyterian will have Maundy Thursday Service at 7 p.m. March 28. Then it will have Easter sunrise service in the cemetery at 6:45 a.m., followed by breakfast in the fellowship hall. Easter worship will be at 9 a.m.

Easter Play

The pastor and church family of Providence Church of God want to invite everyone to a performance on March 24, Palm Sunday.The Student Ministry is proud to present this year’s Easter play, “Death Was Arrested.”

Egg Drop

After the student Easter play on March 24, get ready for the ultimate Easter Egg Drop, brought to you by the West Stanly Fire Department, at Providence Church of God.

Make sure your child brings their Easter baskets.

Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch

Hop on over to First Baptist Church, 200 N.C. Highway 200, Stanfield, on March 30 for an Easter egg hunt and brunch March 30 in the church fellowship hall.

Bring your basket and join in the fun from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Easter Activities

First Baptist Church, 320 S. Central Ave., Locust, has announced its schedule of services and events for Easter.

Palm Sunday (March 24) at 11 a.m.

Good Friday (March 29) at 7 p.m.

Easter Sunday (March 31) Resurrection Celebration at 7:30 a.m. A continental breakfast will follow at 7:45 a.m., with Connect Groups at 8:45 a.m. and worship at 10 a.m.

Philadelphia Baptist Church

Easter schedule of events for Philadelphia Baptist Church, 12568 Philadelphia Church Road, Stanfield, have been announced.

Palm Sunday Service March 24 will be the Kids Easter Cantata.

Good Friday Service on March 29 will be at 6:30 p.m.
Easter “Sonrise” service on March 31 will be at 7:30 a.m., with an Easter breakfast 8 a.m. The Easter service will be at 9:30 a.m. with the Adult choir cantata.
