Sheriff’s Office arrests suspect for trafficking of fentanyl

On March 14, the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division conducted an investigation into the trafficking of fentanyl in Albemarle.
A traffic stop was conducted in the Sun Plaza parking lot on a vehicle driven by William Tracy Allen Jr. of Candler.
Upon a search of the vehicle and Allen, more than 11 grams of fentanyl were located, along with methamphetamine.
Allen was charged with trafficking by possession of opiates, trafficking by transportation of opiates, possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver methamphetamines, possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver schedule II and maintaining vehicle for the sale of controlled substances.
Allen is in custody at the Stanly County Jail under a $750,000 secured bond.
