The Stanly County Sheriff’s Office is investigating claims against a former coach who is jailed in Anson County.
On Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office posted on its Facebook page that the office “has received information about potential crimes that occurred in Stanly County at the hands of 30-year-old Jamoszio Burch. This is an active investigation and The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who is a victim or knows someone who is a victim to please reach out to the Sheriff’s Office at 704-986-3714 or through Facebook Messenger. All information reported will be kept confidential.”
In Anson County, Burch is facing charges in connection with a human trafficking investigation. WSOC-TV reported Burch was arrested March 14 on one count of human trafficking of a child and two counts of indecent liberties with children.
Burch, WSOC reports, had been a coach of local basketball teams such as the AAU-affiliated NC Jayhawks and at Union Academy in Monroe. His Facebook page lists him as founder of the Jayhawks, a ProtegeSkills trainer and basketball teacher.
