The Albemarle Police Department is searching for a suspect following a domestic related shooting that occurred Sunday.
Officers were called at approximately 9:30 p.m. to the 500 block of Arey Avenue for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a male who had been shot. The male was taken to the hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.
Through investigation, officers have identified Larry Jamaar Pemberton, 40, as a suspect in this case. Pemberton is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and discharging a firearm within city limits.
Pemberton was last seen operating a red 2022 Dodge Charger SXT displaying NC tag KHX-9994.
